Liam Hodges SS19
They call it sin city but what sins was Liam Hodge committing for him to be so inspired as to bring us this collection?
In a world that’s becoming more dreary and depressing the younger generation lives with a constant battle due to the constraints of being worried about the future and everything that is holds… or doesn't hold in fact.
“We’re competing against this hyperreal version of ourself” Hodges says
It’s now time to re-vamp your wardrobe with a collection inspired Vegas, by what Hodges calls “a land of extra everything” and is this what his collection is too? A trip to bold and brightly beautiful Las Vegas resulted in a SS19 Collection titled “Slick Trash.”
Hodges keeps to his signature look of side silhouettes and patch work and draws influence from Hip Hop and skate wear and UK streetwear and you can see this through some of the print graphics, in our eyes they play with the challenges we face and feel in daily life but also bring back memories of a younger age, a simpler time with jumpers plastered with the words “Broke Money” sliders that say “Lost and Found.” and a cigarette lighter that's been pulled apart.
The collection has patterns that scream out from a distance, the checks, the florals. Though we live with a constant reminder that we are having to grow up, Hodges keeps us feeling young and free with this collection, so for that we thank you.
This season Hodges continued his collaboration with Fila as well as featuring eyewear from Ace & Tate
