What Suits You? (Part Three)
You thought you knew shirts, but there's more.
This week we want to show you collars, because things were too simple for you.
There are 7 types and 3 variations, so lets break it down shall we.
Collars for Casual wear
The Classic Collar
This is the collar that you will find on most shirts, it goes with everything, and suits all face shapes and can be worn with or with out a collar which means its perfect for a smart casual event.
Button Down Collar
Again this is great for wearing with out a tie, it is perfect on a casual shirt in our eyes as you can wear it with out a tie, unbuttoned or unbutton it down a few and you are good to go.
The Club Collar
The club collar has rounded edges and is great to wear with a shirt pin, this collar can give an exclusive look to your outfit so can be good for country/golf club members.
Collars for work.
The Spread.
This collar is what you will find on most shirts, but you can get different versions of it, there's also the wide spread and the semi spread.
The Wide Spread Collar
This collar has a more noticeable difference because of the extra width gap that is possesses, its good with a think or thick knotted tie good to wear if your in a higher up position, its also perfect if you have a rounder face as it will elongate it.
The Semi Spread Collar
This is the "go to" collar wider gap than the classic spread but smaller than the wide spread, its great if you want to have a tie with a large knott or if your face is slim or you have a long neck
Collars for Formal Occasions
The Tab Collar The tab collar has two tabs that will push up the knott of the tie from underneath wear with a dress shirt to any important formal occasion.
The Wing Collar
The collar for a black tie event. Never wear a tie with this collar, wear a bow tie or possible a cravat. Match with an evening shirt.
There are so many more types of collars available but these are our favourite.
