So many suits to choose from, so where do you start?

The first thing to ask yourself is where are you wearing it?

Work? Wedding? Formal Occasion?

There are a few things to think of when you are putting together your suit, the lapel on the jacket, whether you want the jacket to be single or double breasted, the type of cuff you want on your shirt and the collar on the shirt too.

But this week we take a look at Lapels...

There are three types of Lapels, Peak, Notched and Shawl but you will see variations of these three types as they often vary in width.

Shawl Lapel

If you're go to a black tie event and want to have a smooth sleek look then a shawl lapel is the best choice. It is clean cut and sharp and looks perfect with a bow tie.

This type of lapel presents an elegant look and you will often find it on a tuxedo.

Notched Lapel

The notched lapel is the most common of which you will find and is perfect for work, weddings or dinner parties. It is something that can be worn to both a casual or a formal occasion so when investing in a suit don't cut corners as it is something that you will be wearing often.

Peaked Lapel

Again this type of lapel can be worn for a more casual occasion or a formal one but we prefer it to be worn at a formal dinner or to a wedding, it's not seen as much as the notched lapel so will make you a little different among the crowd. Because of this it can be perfect to mix up your work suit and be different with you style.

Now you're in the know where will you go?
