Reincarnation: a 7 minute long feature film from Chanel that tells us the inspiration behind the iconic Chanel Jacket after Coco Chanell sees the outfit that is being worn by (Pharrell Williams) the operator of the elevator.
All though its worn by women now, The Chanel jacket was inspired by mens jackets but through the years it's has been taken and created into a feminine piece of clothing.
In 1954 Gabrielle Chanel opened her shop and brings with it's minimalistic and elegant jackets made from tweed, Inspired by menswear she takes the elements from it, such as it being a fluid and straight jacket that doesn't interface.
"It was time to show the origins of the Chanel jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950s,” says Lagerfeld. “Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s wear.”
The song in the video "CC The world" both composed and written by Pharell Williams and features Cara Delevingne in it.
